Education, advocacy, support, hope.
NAMI is a grassroots organization offering support, information, and advocacy for individuals with mental illness and their families. Severe mental illnesses are biologically based brain disorders, which profoundly affect one’s ability to think, feel, and relate to the environment and to other people. The consequent social stigma and family disruption are conditions NAMI is working to relieve.
NAMI Oklahoma County is an affiliate of NAMI-Oklahoma and NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
