NAMI is a grassroots organization offering support, information, and advocacy for individuals with mental illness and their families.  Severe mental illnesses are biologically based brain disorders, which profoundly affect one’s ability to think, feel, and relate to the environment and to other people.  The consequent social stigma and family disruption are conditions NAMI is working to relieve. 

NAMI Edmond-North Oklahoma City is an affiliate of NAMI-Oklahoma and NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness.


Empowers families through education, support, and advocacy.

Educates the public by sharing personal experiences and facts.

Provides local access to national programs and advocacy efforts.

Organizes and operates NAMI programs by volunteer efforts.


NAMI Edmond-North OKC Programs:

The Family Support Group is a peer-led support group for family members, caregivers and loved ones of individuals living with mental illness. Gain insight from the challenges and successes of others facing similar circumstances. 

Family-to-Family is a FREE 12-week class for family, partners and caregivers of individuals living with mental illness. You are not alone. Meet others with similar concerns and learn about all aspects of brain disorders in a friendly and confidential environment. 

A 6-session educational program for loved ones of military Service Members and Veterans who experience symptoms of a mental health condition; offered free of charge to participants.
